Ahh, The Bahamas…simply a tropical paradise on earth! Known for its crystal blue waters, soft white sand, amazing weather, and fabulous beach properties – what’s not to love? During my visit to this beautiful island I split my stay between two resorts – The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and Atlantis Bahamas. I wanted to experience the best of both worlds. Stay tuned for my Atlantis Bahamas blog coming soon. 😉

Where do I even begin? The Baha Mar resort complex has three hotels to choose from (Grand Hyatt, SLS, and Rosewood). Located on Nassau’s beautiful Cable Beach, this luxury resort complex offers everything you need for an unforgettable and dreamy getaway in The Bahamas. I decided to book a stay at the Grand Hyatt for a few days which is perfect for families, friends, or a romantic getaway.

The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar is truly massive and I recommend you grab a resort map from the front desk once you check-in. If you’re an iPhone user you can download their mobile app Experience Baha Mar which provides an interactive map that guides you through the area. The app also helps you discover all of the restaurants/bars, activities, shopping experiences that the resort has to offer. It also gives you recommendations based on your mood and interests. For those of you that love to meticulously plan everything ahead of time, you can also add activities and reservations to your very own planner.

The resort has over 1800 rooms spread across two towers (the East and West). I stood in the Grand King Room (East Tower) which was spacious, airy, decorated really beautifully, and painted in a refreshing cobalt blue hue. The room features floor-to-ceiling windows with a Juliet balcony, a comfy king bed, an interactive tablet for games and resort info, and a luxurious bathroom with rain shower.

After checking in, I immediately gravitated towards their marine sanctuary (my love for animals is beyond this world 😍) which allows guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and wildlife of the Bahamian islands. They are committed to the environmental conservation and protection of wildlife. As well as educating guests about local conservation efforts.

Guests are able to get up close to sea turtles, stingrays, nurse sharks, flamingos, and more. There’s something so oddly-soothing and hypnotic watching aquatic creatures swimming and going on about their daily lives. Can anyone relate?

Baha Mar has a ton of water activities for guests to enjoy! The resort’s complimentary rental program lets guests try out stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, snorkels, and more. Or, for something different, check out the motorized watercraft rentals available, such as Jetsurf boards, Jet skis, and Underwater scooters.

The resort is home to the largest casino in the Caribbean, has more than 40 incredible restaurants, lounges, bars, and an 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, and a tennis court.

Tips / Things to know

  • Baha Mar is 10-15 mins from the airport (Lynden Pindling International airport). There’s no Lyft or Uber in The Bahamas so I recommend you make arrangements prior to your arrival, you can utilize the resorts shuttle service or locate a taxi driver – Bring cash! The taxi drivers only accept cash (the taxi ride is about $35).
  • Be sure to catch the colorful outdoor fountain water show that runs every night.
  • There are plenty of lifeguards and individual restroom huts all around the pool and beach areas. There are many towel stations that offer Sun Bum sunscreen and water.
  • Take a walk on the pier while watching the sunset.
  • Baha Mar is a “cash less” resort, so you either pay with a card or charge everything to your room.

Final thoughts

The Grand Hyatt Baha Mar really went above and beyond to provide me with one of the best experiences during my trip to the Bahamas. With so many fun and unique activities to keep you entertained from hours on end, their simply isn’t any room for boredom. The wide variety of food options, friendly hotel staff, enchanting marine sanctuary, lush tropical grounds, and a clean beach within walking distance had me truly feeling like I was living in paradise. I seriously left the resort feeling so rejuvenated. I can’t recommend this place enough!

If any of you guys have any questions about this resort, let me know! I would love to answer or help in any way. 😊

P.S. I dedicated an Instagram story highlight just for the Bahamas so definitely check that out to see most of what I talked about on video.
