Planning where to stay in Bangkok, Thailand can be a wee bit overwhelming. The choices, depending on your needs and budget are endless. The city is known for being a pretty affordable vacation destination and surprisingly luxury hotels are available for a fraction of what they would be in other cities. You don’t need to break the bank to travel in style. 😉
After quite a bit of research, I decided to settle on 137 Pillars Suites & Residences. Being a content creator for the past couple of years has allowed me the opportunity to experience some really unique and beautiful hotels/resorts (which I’m really grateful for!), because of these experiences I naturally developed a personal standard of what makes a hotel/resort stand out and shine from the rest – and believe me when I say that this hotel has that IT factor.
Staying at the 137 Pillars Suites & Residences during my trip to Bangkok was definitely a memorable highlight for me. The 5-star boutique hotel is located in the city center (Sukhumvit neighborhood – known for its trendy restaurants & bars, shopping malls, and vibrant nightlife) and a 10-minute walking commute to the BTS Sky train (Phrom Pong station) – or via a complimentary shuttle service that the hotel provides every half an hour between the station and the hotel (and it’s not just any boring shuttle, it’s a very cute London cab named Louie that exudes elegance and is painted in royal blue 😍).
There are 176 Residences & 34 luxury appointed rooms on high floors, each named after a royal period in Thai history. Offering a private balcony with sweeping views of the Bangkok skyline, all rooms are air-conditioned and come with a dining area, a flat-screen TV with international channels, Bose sound systems, in-room refrigerators and coffee/tea makers, personal mobile with free unlimited international and domestic phone calls and 4G data free Wifi and 24hr room service. All of their private bathrooms come complete with a deep soaking tub, shower, smart toilet, bathrobes, slippers, and designer toiletries. I was fortunate to snag a booking at the Sukhothai Suite which was a dream! (it was so therapeutic to watch the skyline of Bangkok while soaking my body in a tub full of rose petals and sipping some champagne – I know I can be a bit extra sometimes lol but you only live once so why not make the best of it and live out that fantasy to the fullest!).
Now the biggest standout for me during my stay was the rooftop infinity pool located on the 33rd floor, available exclusively to suite guests. The unparalleled 360-degree views are without a doubt breathtaking and feel as if you’re swimming amongst the endless sky. Guests of the residences have a different infinity pool on the 27th floor, which is just as impressive but without the 360-degree views.
When you’re feeling hungry or want a drink you have a couple of unique options to choose from:
Located on the 27th floor you will find Nimitr Restaurant (Nimitr in Thai means ‘A special Dream”) which features inspired Asian Cuisine and a sophisticated ambiance which is perfect for a romantic night of fine dining.
Bangkok Trading Post Bistro & Deli
Located beside the lobby entrance you will find a Bistro & Deli which offers a gourmet menu of globally inspired dishes crafted from seasonal local produce and other fine quality products from around the world, organic coffee and teas, unique craft beers, and signature cocktails.
Baan Borneo Club
This private club is exclusive for suite guests, located on the 26th floor with a great view. Here you can enjoy exclusive breakfast dishes, cocktails, and afternoon tea.
Jack Bain’s Bar
Perched high above the skyline of Bangkok, Jack Bain’s Bar offers guests an eclectic collection of whiskeys, gins, other premium spirits, and a curated selection of Old and New World wines.
An upscale oasis next to their infinity-edged pool which is blessed with a breathtaking view of the city’s skyline. Enjoy cocktails, fresh juices, light refreshments, and culinary delights from their menu.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay! If you’re planning a trip to Bangkok, I highly recommend you consider giving this incredible hotel a chance to elevate your Thai vacation experience. The staff were all so warm, welcoming, and go above and beyond to make you feel like royalty. The breathtaking views and their beautiful design aesthetics really make them shine above the rest. If given the opportunity to visit again, I would definitely visit again! 😆
