Greece has been on my list of dream destinations to visit for as long as I can remember. Getting to visit Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini as a summer getaway was truly a dream come true! The first city on my itinerary was Athens. I remember being so fascinated with Greek mythology during my time in middle school and watching the Disney movie Hercules on repeat while growing up – I guess all of those ancient Greek stories sparked a heavy interest in wanting to visit the beautiful country of Greece one day. Knowing that the city of Athens is where it all began, I made it a mission to visit the glorious city for my own eyes.

During my early stages of putting my itinerary together I know I wanted to be in the center of all the action. There were many top contenders when it came to deciding on a hotel that fit my needs and budget. I ultimately settled on the luxury five star hotel, The Royal Olympic! The family owned hotel is located in the heart of Athens. Positioned in front of the famous Temple of Zeus and National Garden as well as having incredible panoramic views of the Acropolis and Lycabettus Hill, I was sold on the spot! The grand lobby decked out in marble, gold framed artwork and elegant furniture gives the space a very opulent feel. The Royal Olympic has 264 rooms to satisfy every type of traveler.

All of the rooms feature air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi and comfortable bed linens. In-room amenities include TV with satellite / cable channels, work desk, radio, and 24-hour room service. Complimentary bathroom amenities are included. Free WiFi access is provided throughout the hotel, while the multilingual staff is available 24/7. The hotel also features a rooftop terrace, fitness center, spa, library, business center and meeting facilities.

I stayed in the Executive room which was really stylish, cozy and charmingly decorated with a notable Mediterranean theme. I was really feeling the radiant colors and sophisticated furnishing. All of the Executive rooms have impressive views to the swimming pool garden.

I highly recommend you guys make use of the hotels buffet breakfast which is served  at their very own rooftop garden restaurant also known as Ioannis restaurant – take the elevator to the 7th floor. The food is so appetizing and they switch it up on the daily using different local recipes with healthy fresh ingredients. Watching the Acropolis, Temple of Zeus and Lycabettus Hill from afar while eating is such a beautiful way to start the Greek day!

Whether you’re coming to Greece for leisure or business, you will find a unique and authentic Athenian experience staying at the Royal Olympic that will fulfill your greek fantasy.
